Will the turbolifts have menus to select which deck you want to go to like in the EF Expansion? And will there be any moving turbolifts, ones you will see moving?

Other than their appearance, the turbolifts are and work exactly the same as the ones in the EF Xpak

I just took the stuff out of the xpak maps and edited the sp_turbolift.dat file.

so, It can give more exploration, and make the map funner, there could be a hidden object and you have to find a hidden control panel to get the object, maybe a hypospray, or a tricorder, or a weapon, and the hidden object would be right beside it, in the wall

There will be a turbolift menu selection screen in Virtual Enterprise. And, so far, you can't get around using jeffries tubes. (Although they are featured)

I've never been congratulated. But hey, I look at it this way: you can suddenly order someone around in the game and they'll be like, "WTF???" Then you say, I outrank you, ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

I think it just gets tiring congratulating people in cadet ranks since they're to easy to get through. Now a captaincy promotion is something to congratulate

Promotion is by the number of posts you make. Although I shouldn't be saying this, it might encourage other newcomers to post: if you post 10 messages, you will get promoted to Cadet 2nd Year.

You get a promotion when you have made a certain amount of posts. And there should be a release very soon, they are just "Awaiting Final Installments"

EDIT: We've had another "Lets all post at the same time episode about the same topic" thing.

Depends who you ask. Some people ignore Fleet Captain and Commodore and jump all the way up to Rear Admiral. The next rank should be Fleet Captain.

Starbase 5 and Manhunter and myself live in the same house. That's why I was yelling at Manhunter to stop spamming the other day and just open his mouth and say what he wants to say instead of bumping. Carlos lives on the other side of the continent from me. It is only a concidence that we both have been making a rank list. When I told Starbase 5 to go upstairs, I was serious. His computer is downstairs and mine is upstairs.

Do you have multiple internet connections so you can both use the net at the same time? Or do you have broadband - does that allow multiple connections?

We have a router, which allows all computers on our network to access the Internet through one connection. It is quite clever.

Depends on the router. My friend used to share his 56k connection on his network. IIRC it's a bit tricky. At my house, we just had a separate 56k modem in each computer, and each computer had it's own phone line connection to the Internet.

Oh well, and my dad won't even bother to network our 2 computers, he just gets floppy disks and walks between them constantly - that is, whenever he gets the chance to go on. Considering our old Windows 98 PC (Pentium III, 330MHz - very slow I know) takes 5 minutes to load from when you turn the pc on until it finishes after loading stuff like the start menu, norton antivirus and so on.

This subject has changed so much! We went through all of these:

Turbolifts
Jefferies Tubes
Transporters
Promotions
Going downstairs and bopping someone
Rank boundaries
Secret rank lists
Being confused by Vanhal's quote
Ranks that are never used (Fleet Captain & Commodore)
Being in the same house
Routers
Slow PC's

Now what do slow PC's have to do with turbolifts?
