I went into the customer service center at the computer commons on campus today and asked them if they could give me more web space. I expected the to ask me for a good reason and to fill out paperwork of something, but all they asked was my ID and gave me more space. LOL!

It goes without saying that getting that upgrade was easier than expected. So now I have 50 megs of space and more bandwith than I'll ever need. That combined with my new compressing technology means I can show pretty much every and any video I've ever done. So, uh, any requests? Na na!

I'm not really sure what you have done, so, what have you done?

Short films (none all that great), short comedy videos, various trip videos (dirt biking in desert, tank jumping, riding tables down ski slopes, etc.), effects tests, etc.

I usually show most of my videos here at one point or another.

You do movies to? Like what?

Just little things. Usually promo videos for events at school and church, sometimes just mockumentaries just for a small group of friends, you know, something that only a few people would get but its really hillarious to you and to them, sometimes I just do shorts with like a car running up a ramp, and like have a camera in the car and one outside, stuff like that, and I just do short flicks experimenting with different filming techniques and different effects I can do on Photoshop, Image Ready, and Premiere. Really I do a wide variety of movies. I just don't have much time to do them other than in the summer and over breaks in school.

You should show some of them. I'd be interested in seeing what a fellow movie maker does.

Ha I would but problem is one, I don't have webspace to put it on, the videos are really big anyway, and I've got them all on the other computer which only has dial up and not broadband. That's the main issue. But I might be able to get one or two of them up sometime.

Erm, you need to network your computers together and say goodbye to dialup.

I'd make movies if I had a way of getting them into the computer. Wha?

Firewire or USB should work, assuming of course that your camera is digital.

Firewire is the best, and USB is ok, but even if you don't have either, there are adapters you can get for just regular RCA wires and/or S-Video ports, and it hooks into the adapter which you can hook into your USB port. It's pretty cool. As for networking the computers through my cable modem, that costs upwards of a 100 bucks and I'm not too pushed to do it.

The video camera we have isn't digital; it only has RCA.

Is it VHS or one of those 8mm with only RCA/S-Video?

It's a Sony Handycam 8mm with RCA only.

Ok I've used those before, the newer ones of those have a USB port hookup in them. Makes it a lot more convienent than having to buy an adapter.
