I liked the 2nd the best, I think. Werent 7 & 8 back on Read Drawf? And Rimmer was there again. Some of them were good I thought, Red Drawf being rebuilt by those little things. I liked it.

Yeah, it's a comedy sci fi about a mining ship red dwarf. A guy called Lister is put in stasis as punishment for smuggling a cat onboard the ship. When he wakes up, 3 million years later (I think it was), everyone was killed in an accident and the only people on the ship is a hologram of Rimmer, Lister's annoying roommate, Cat, who is the result of 3 million years of evolution which came from Lister's cat, and Holly, the ships computer. Then the story went on from there Wink

Funny how I could talk about that in that much detail when I never really followed the show, and how I can never remember the proof to Pytagorus' Theorm!

the Theorm Pytagorus states that the square on the hypotenuse on a right angled tri-angle is equal the the sum of the squares on the other two sides.

Thank you very much, that was from memory.

I can remember that, but it's the PROOF that I can't remember.

Also, did you ever notice that the square is actually pointless. I saw another version on the web that said the square root of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the square roots of the other two sides. So it's like this

h2=a2+o2
h=a+o

So shouldn't it be:

On a right angled triangle, the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the other two sides?

No. The famous 3, 4, 5 triangle.

3 + 4 would not equal 5.
3^2 + 4^2 would equal 5^2 (9+16=25)

But,

Square Root of 3 + Square Root of 4 = Square Root of 5
1.73 + 2 = 2.23.

I cant see how that would work.

I'm still taking GCSE maths that's why its stuck in my head.

<edit> what's cert maths?

You think that's bad, try A Level:

v sqrd = u sqrd + 2as
v = u + at
s = 1/2(u+v)t

Where s is delta displacement, u is initial velocity, v is final velocity, a is acceleration and t is delta time.

I picked number 2, because Norman Lovett is better at Holly than Hattie Haydridge, and you see him a lot better in this series. 6 was cool too. 7 dropped in standards, but a small recovery was made in 8.

No, you're thinking of the Pathagorean (spelling?) theorem that says A^2 + B^2 = C^2

So C = Square root of (A^2 + B^2) all together, not separate. It's different cause you have to add it all together and take the square root, you can't deal with the separately.

Example: A = 3
B = 4

So square root of (3^2 + 4^2) = square root of (9 + 16) = square root of 25 = 5

Now compare to A + B --> 3 + 4 = 7

So you see, they're different.

PBS Detroit has quite a bit of English TV.

In Canada, we have our own dedicated English channel, BBC Canada.

We've also got The Learning Channel, which shows episodes of Scrapheap Challenge every week.

Yes, Robert Llewellyn hosts Scrapheap Challenge.

Over here, they call it Junkyard Wars and airbrush the name out when they remember, but sometimes they forget. I think Scrapheap Challenge is a better name, but it sounds funny to Americans.

Oh thats a great episode. And I remember some of the funny outtakes too. When the girl (i forget the name) tried to cut here arm off, it just stayed on her arm, and as they kept filming, it fell off 4 seconds later.

This year was easy enough (Yes, I'm insane enough to spend my spare time on the Internet when I have exams) except for Paper 2 on Maths...

When Simmo said put your rank in your sig, he meant your rank in the game. Everyone knows your rank on the boards because it's underneath your name already.
