About an hour ago Dobberman offered me the preview version of Virtual Enterprise and after checking 2 almost finished decks of the Enterprise all I can say is:

HOLY SHlT! BRILLIANT STUFF!

I actually met Geordi in Engineering. It was a very cool experience! The entire mod is looking great!

When I launched Virtual Enterprise I got an edited EF menu. You can check the Enterprise-D crew's biographies and see schematics of the Enterprise-D instead of Voyager. Then I launched the tour-mode and started in the turbolift on deck 36.
Engineering had crewmen walking around and using panels. It looked soo cool.
Then when I stepped into the turbolift and took the exit on deck 10 I realised that I was walking through a copy of the TNG sets. Ten Forward is looking absolutely awesome!

This mod is really fantastic and I can't wait for it to be released. This is a mod you really MUST have.

Well, I guess he exagerated a bit. You can see him, he talks, but it's just like talking to torres in EF. (except it's geordi obviously Wink)

Had you done any of Engineering before you put that poll on your site before? It seemed like you had. How many decks are there to this tour. Is it decks 1 (bridge), 2 (quarters), 10 (10 forward), 12 (sickbay), 36 (engineering).

Yeah, that's right. Although, I think I'll make an early release version with just Decks 1, 10 and 36. Then release 2 and 12 later. (They need the most work)

I had a tiny bit when the poll started, but I didn't expect to finish it, it was like only a small bit of the back done, nothing special.

what about

decks 3,4,5 (main shuttle bay)
deck 6 (transporters)
deck 8 (battle bridge)
deck 11 (holodecks)

and all the other decks where the quarters of the TNG senior staff are located

if this is not in the first version of VE
they could be in an addon

deck 2 has data, Geordi and worf's quarters
deck 8 has Picard, Riker and Troi's quarters

Not forgetting decks 7, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 and 42. Now, that tour would be great! Touring the whole ship.

Those blueprints aren't true to the show, if I followed them, the corridors would look pretty strange and ugly.

Anyway, to keep things together for the mods sake, I've moved the transporter room to deck 2 and the holodeck to deck 12. And yes, there will be add ons with more decks, but the turbolift menu has a limit that I can't change so I can't put all 42 decks in it.

is there a site for the entire deck maps of Voyager

doing the entire deck or the entire ship of the Enterprise D would take up too much space , thats why you use only the decks that are mostly seen on the show, maybe you could fan-create a map of Picard's yacht on the Enterprise D as well.
but you could do the entire decks and the entire ship of Voyager or the Defiant or the Equinox because they are small ships.

HOLY SHIT!

Guys and girls - children of all ages - here it comes one of the most breathtaking mods to date!

So i installed the mod from the selfextracting .exe - nice and simple...

Booted up EF from the Virtual Enterprise launcher and i got a different menu!

Including Bios of the crew - some including pictures and the big button "VIRTUAL ENTERPRISE"...

Going into Virtual Enterprise was a fantastic experience!

First you are in the realistic turbolifts taking you to the Engineering section of th USS ENTERPRISE - D

Engineering is great! - its very realistic - 95% realistic in my view - i saw crewmembers doing work on the fantastically textured panels and Geordi going about his work...

I went up to Geordi for a chat - as you do Wink

HE SPOKE TO ME PEOPLE! Lips moved - and Geordi came alive!

He told me that our relations were getting dodgy - so i decided to get the hell out of there before i annoyed him more! Wink

So after gazing with shocked eyes at the Warp core, from two different levels and its beautiful animation i made my way past the "pool table" - and this my friends was a jewel! - it was totally realistic! made me think how much work must have gone into such a small oject! Eek!


So, i went into the turbo lift upto Tenforward!


TEN FORWARD is the most awsome thing ive seen so far from Dobberman (and boy does his other work take some beating!) TenForward was amazing!

I was walking through it, and as Horckdude, thought to myself "Oh my god im walking through the TNG SET!!!!" - its that damn good!

The corridor made me breathless - its so real - amazingly real! Happy

Anyways - after i went through the realistic famous ten-forward doors - i saw very canon chairs, tables and even with meals and chess on them!

The bar is actually the feather in the ten forward cap - it was stunning! - realistic in everyway! even a replicator is there! - i havent had a drink at tenforward yet - but i'll catch a cold one later Happy


ALL IN ALL:

THIS MOD IS GOING TO BE AMAZINGLY REAL AND GREAT!

today, I am going to try to formulate a list of how many escape pods are on each deck. and then I will post it, not that you need escape pods on a hero ship, maybe just 1-10 available escape pods

Thanks Worf. Well, guys, this is just to give you a glimse of what the mod will be like, now I can't say that they didn't exagerate (abit You're all against me!) but at least I didn't tell them what to say Na na! Hopefully this will make up for the late release. (A bit Wink)

For some reason my "Star Trek Voyager Elite Force: Single Player" part of the game doesn't work. I don't have the CD here either so I hope I can run this in "Holomatch" Na na!

to run dxdiag, press the run button in the start menu, type in dxdiag and press enter, when it loads, press save all information, then follow the instructions.

Well, you can't play the mod without Single Player. You'll have to wait till I make TNG Holomatch maps.

I doubt there are deck maps of Voyager. There are Enterprise-A, D, Orignal, and USS Defiant deck maps around because they came in the tech manuals. There may be a Voyager tech manual out sometime, but the further away from the series we get, the less likely it is that Paramount will ever make a full blueprint of Voyager. I'm still looking for any fan made ones, especially of the Akira class - the best class in my opinion.

I havent seen any on the net, but the Defiant is in the DS9 tech manual. Try using a search engine. Someone should have scanned them in.

The wait is definitely worth it.

I found in Virtual Voyager that the crew didn't seem very friendly. I hope this is not the case with Virtual Enterprise.

BTW: IIRC the Voyager Tech Manual has been cancelled.

i dont mean to pressure you dobberman, but if u make jeffries tubes to the other decks, u technically could have all the decks 1-42. it may take a while to get from deck to deck, but it possibly could be worth the travel. Just thought i would let you guys know Smile

Ah, i see what your getting at. Have about 5 or so decks for one map, which would add up to say for e.g. 15 decks for 3 maps. Grin Good Idea!

That would make each map really big. The reason the maps are separated by deck in the first place is so that EF doesn't have to allocate more memory than what is available. For example, the IRez mod for XPak doesn't work unless you change com_hunkmegs to something higher, and even then, I couldn't use the turbolift. If we all had massive amounts of memory, it wouldn't be a problem. But that's not the case.

Remember in EF, when u need to get to the warp core before the breach?
well, if u do, u will know that u need to take a jeffries tube to get there. When u go doen it, a new map loads. Do that for a couple of the other decks, and u can have em all.

out of curiosity, How many decks of the Enterprise do u plan on making Dobberman? I know u are only making 3 now, and the turbo lift limit is 16, but are u going to make some others in the future? I look foreward to your incredible work Happy

he has lots of decks planned, Im sure he will make more VE decks before or after Assaulted Empire is released. he also said he will make addon packs with more levels. the amount of decks that are seen on the show would probably equal less than 16 (the amount of decks allowed in the turbolift menu, although I think that there could be more than 1 turbolift menu (2 or more different turbolift menus for each deck with different deck selections)

but he changed the release times, and deck amounts because of his state exams and problems with the mod.

AFAIK, Decks 2 and 12 will be released before Assaulted Empire. Other decks will be released after Assaulted Empire.

Deck 36 will be in the first release.

AFAIK means "as far as I know"

There aren't a whole lot of short phrases used here, but the most common ones are:
AFAIK - as far as I know
IIRC - if I recall correctly
LOL - laughing out loud
ROFL - rolling on the floor laughing
LMAO - laughing my ass off

I don't know what j/k means.

There aren't a whole lot of short phrases used here, but the most common ones are:
AFAIK - as far as I know
IIRC - if I recall correctly
LOL - laughing out loud
ROFL - rolling on the floor laughing
LMAO - laughing my ass off

I don't know what j/k means.

Change DECK36 to anything between DECK1 and DECK16 would be my guess.

probably, but there is an EF cheat so that friendly characters don't shoot back when you shoot them

How many times do I read it that there is a level called TRAIN - transit. You go straight from DN5 to DN6. Is it just that it is not in the UK version? Anyone who has played this level, tell me what it is.

all the original EF files are located in pak0.pk3 in the baseef folder, use a pak file program (pakscape), when I looked in those files I did not find a levelshot for that map (it is a cinematic)
a cinematic is an animation in a level (eg. when the alien ship first attacked voyager in the map voy1[the first voyager map])

and remember, my version of EF isn't working right now, so I looked in the file that was on the cd
