A) it's just the camera and the actors moving. But in the movie "Galaxy Quest" they have the whole set moving!

B) As far as i know, and i'm pretty sure i'm right, it's just magnets.

Scooter would know for sure.

Yeah the camera moves and they just act to it. I think it magnets but I heard that some may be using velcro scraps.

speaking of cameras moving, remember the TNG episode Time Squared
at one point the camera was moving and O'brien just stood up straight without moving with the camera

I doubt the viewscreen works, it would cost them too much money i think its just a bluescreen.

There's a "behind the scenes" film of Enterprise being filmed on the bridge. It shows you how they do it. I found it on Kazaa.

Yes, it's just the camera that shakes on StarTrek, and the actors have to move with it. The people who made Galaxy Quest decided that method is too fake, so they made a set that can actually shake when a couple of big guys push on it. That way the actors really are falling out of their chairs.

Yes, the comm badges, and the Doc's mobile emitter, are held on with magnets. The toy ones are also held on by magnets IIRC.

Yes, they use a bluescreen for the viewscreen. The one at the Experience is a reversed LCD projector behind the glass. They use them at my school. When you see a moving starfield, it's also a bluescreen, but they use painted backdrops for when the stars aren't moving. (At least they did for TNG).

Good memory Starbase 5. Grin

For the Voyager sets, they had curtains with the star patterns in them that actually rotated around the set.

As for the galaxy quest set. It was shaken with hydralics.

What about the parts when they are on the side of the ship when the stars go very slow side ways is that just paintings scolling on a wheel or something?

AFAIK, whenever the stars are moving, with those little light trails, it's a bluescreen. The backdrop with star patterns that rotates around the set is for when the ship is stationairy, again AFAIK.
