An Exciting talk to today....

Laster Than Light Travel

Again? Well this is very popular and I have news!

Warp Drive is possible

If you compress space.... and then travel there you would not be going faster than light and still travelling more than what it says... And you would need something to keep your bubble going. Also go compress space you need a lot of energy I was watching something about zero type energy it is all around us, and if you gather enough you can make the atom bomb look like a fire cracker. So what do you think?

well I heard that its also possible to "warp" space that is space warps behind the ship, acts as a wave and pushes the ship along, since its actually space thats moving, you are not going faster than light.

There are lots of "exceptions" to the lightspeed barrier.

for example theres always other dimensions. (yes there are more than the presumed four)

or like those guys said the bending of space itself.

or my favorite; hyperspace, a term used to describe time and space as a single entity. If we could control that, speed would be unlimited, and travel times would be instant. Like I said my favorite.

Yup, folding space warp drive was on VOY. (I can't remember the episode title.)

Conventional warp drive involves tunneling thru subspace. Electrons do it all the time.

and then we have Transwarp.
this uses lots of power, may need a fuel source that keeps copying itself over and over

we also have Slipstream and the A2 Species 8472 rift

I didn't get this off Voyager. It was on a Program called The Science of the Impossible. And they used the term warp drive. Also i start my own theroy. If We Folded space and we did something wrong we could destroy it all. This would cause the end of the univerese.

I don't think so, I think it would just create a hole in it. What would happen in that hole I don't know.

folding space? happens every second of every day.

Everybodys heard of black holes But most people don't understand them. They DON'T transport you across the universe in half a second. They are the most destructive force in the universe. All they are is a star that has used up most of its fuel and has collapsed in on itself. They work because of all that mass in stuck in such a small space (imagine our sun fitting in a space the size of a square mile!) The gravitational effects ae tremendous! And so are the temporal effects if you were to sit a spacecraft at the edge of an event horizon for 1 second and then somehow be able to get it back out Millions of years would have passed by!

Why are they caled black holes you ask?
Because of the afforementioned intense gravitational affects. The gravity is so high it actually sucks in light!

Fwew! well, thats my lesson on astro-physics for today.

Well done Commander Luke! But I'm not so sure that black holes actually fold space.

Yes the escape velocity of a black hole is the speed of light, therefore even light can't escape its gravity. The swirl of light around the black hole is the light being sucked in, but in the center it is dark because no light can escape. Also since it is impossible (per say) to go faster than the speed of light, nothing can escape it.

Ah, but if there is something more powerful than light that means we probably go faster than it...

Wouldn't it be strange if sound travelled faster than light?

yeah technology wil probably be better. But not by too much. Look at the forties they thought we would have colonies on the moon by the sixties and we would step on mars in the eightys. Don't overestimate technology.

Well in 40 years probably there will be some manned mission to Mars, or at least back to the moon. This would be faster than the Apollo missions more than likely, and maybe a temporary moon base would be set up. The international space station will be finished and helping to develop new technologies.

Computers will be much faster, transport will probably be more environmentally friendly.

Probably that transporters that they used for light will be more sophisticated and may move multiple light things and maybe just starting to move matter.

Life will be much better and we'd still be waiting for VE to be released. Computer games will be sooooooooooo realistic, and running out of ideas.

Star Trek will probably be very very CGI and will be on to series 10 or beyond hopefully. We'll be onto movie 15 hopefully too.

Anyway, for technology, communication will be a lot easier too.

Dobberman didn't post anything in the secret forum until I got back, and it was just the one screenshot. BTW: I won't be able to go to live chat Friday at 9pm GMT anymore because I'll be in school. Any time I have Friday off I'll try to be there. To make a long story short, Dobber I'm relying on the secret forum as my sole source of information from now on.

I assume you are making a joke
there was a joke about that at Laz Rojas's site

Seven of Nine played kadiskot with Neelix via subspace radio. Neelix has never been to earth. It is NOT a joke. He is still on the asteroid. You saw Neelix's face on a viewscreen!
