You add "-cheats" or "-dev" (I cant remember which) to the shortcut, and once in the game press the ~ button.

So How would you add that in? I use WinXP, so would the command line be something like C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -cheats or -dev ?? one of the two

The symbols on the keyboards over here are , `, and . (A horizontal line with a vertical drop on the right end, an apostraphe slightly tilted, and a colon shaped thing). The tilde key is ~ on the same key as # on the end of the 3rd row next to the return key.

On "American Keyboards" that key is next to the "1" and "!" key and is ~

On "English Keyboards" the key next to the "1" and "!" is `

That's why I always got confused when cheat websites said to press the tilde key Muhahaha Grrr!

The backwards apostrophe (`) and the tilde (~) are the same key over here. The colon shaped thing is called a pipe. What's the for? We don't have that on our keyboards, but I've seen it in the ASCII chart.

I have no idea what the is for. I have never used it, and assume I never will. I dont think its used in any language or anything, but it looks nice anyway, or can use it in lines or something:

I doubt it but it could be the remnants of... BASIC the most horrible to understand of all codes. Let the Commodore 64 burn in hell where it belongs! or it could be an alien language....

WTF? BASIC is the EASIEST of all programming languages to learn, I learned it when I was 9. Why do you think they made it spell out BASIC Na na!

I must be confused. I remember the Commodore 64 to be pointless. You would have to put in all the commands manually. I guess I have been spoiled by user friendly os's.

BASIC is a programming language not an OS. You can get versions of it for windows and dos
