It was between 2.5 and 3 on the Richter scale. Are we in the run to a big one or something Huh? Wha?

Here in British Columbia we're really close to the fault line, but we hardly ever get earthquakes. Something is backwards.

We don't get anything down here. No earthquakes, no tornadoes (well, almost), no floods, etc.

It's nice. Grin

Actually wasn't the last earthquake something like 7 - 8 on the Richter scale or whatever its called? Even at that point i still didn't feel the earthquake! I seriously have never felt an earthquake before even though i've been through 10 or more in my life. The last one i was doing a small skit for socials class and i said something like "Get down" or "Get out of my way" (Can't remember) and everybody was on the ground as fast as they could under their desks and i was standing there like "What are you doing? I didn't mean it" and i started asking some people what their doing and they said it was an earthquake. My teacher was so scared he said we didn't have to do the rest of the play and that he was satisfied and gave us a 4 or 5 out of 5. Pretty funny!

Ha ha, sounds like you guys are well trained. If we had an earthquake here, everyone would just stand around. Actually, it would probably take a few seconds for them to realize what the shaking was. Grin

One time we were writing a quiz in English class (back when I was in grade 12) and I felt my desk rocking forward and back. I thought it was somebody behind me pushing on the desk in front of them with their feet, but I turned around and it wasn't so. Everybody realized it was tremors from an earthquake far away (in Seattle I think), but it was really small tremors and we never get big earthquakes. We just sat there and enjoyed it, while a few other classes went outside (*cough*wimps*cough*). The only time I've ever hidden under a desk or something was during earthquake drills. We just don't get big quakes here. A few years ago the government put up signs saying "Disaster Response Route", something to do with if there's a big earthquake. I keep saying, "We don't get big earthquakes here," and they keep saying, "You don't know that there won't be one some day." I don't know what people's problem is. Just because there's a fault line doesn't mean you get earthquakes. Every earthquake we've had as far as I know has been just tremors from far away. If you look at all the historical data, it's fairly clear that we just don't get big earthquakes, but people are stubborn. Wink

Ya i think scooter has the same earth quake but a different place. I guess i should have specified where the earthquake was as scooter did. So it wasn't as nasty as a 7.

Well, a lot of those are probably aftershocks, which of course are normal.
