Games are best played when more people are there (Wait, scratch that, more COMPETENT people). Also, plots are best planned, and then builded on as you go. That's what I've learned from my experiance in RPing. So I think it would be good if we could get a really good game planned. There will probably be 3 steps involved in this:

1.Determine what date and time most everyone can be on at.
2. Determine the basic plot, then we can trail off from there once we have the momentum going.
3. What maps we are going to need for the setting (i.e Our ship, a starbase, etc.)

I guess we'll be using Serenity ranks on this? Maybe with non Serenity people being Ensigns and then posting what they would like to be or take up the position of Serenity people who aren't going to be there. Anyway, the ultimate judge for steps 2 and 3 will be Simmo, he'll listen to the input, and then make a (hopefully fair) decision based on what he reads. Does all this sound okay?

From my experience, it's not been fun when I was in command and forced to come up with all the ideas on my own.

I'm usually available Saturday, and quite often Friday, but I also like to do other things on my days off besides EF.

It's also been my experience that when one person is leaving their post and/or jumping/running around, the games goes down the drain. Please people, pretend you are in real life. Don't jump/run around. Turn off auto-run or bind a toggle key like I did.
[code:1:8b39962129]/bind e "cl_run !"[/code:1:8b39962129]

The U.S.S. Pepsi. Hehehehehehehehehe.

I have an idea. The U.S.S. Whatever the ships name is goes to chart nebulas in the Barista Sector. A few hours later when we are done we try contacting Starfleet but we get no response. A few seconds later the COS saids he detects no ships of any kind or race! No federation, klingon, romulan, or any other ships! He detects no debris that there were battles. Now they relize something terrible happened and they are the only living things in the galaxy. Not even the borg or the dominion exist! Absolutly nothing! They are the only people that exist.

Now how did that sound for a storyline? Grin

Yeah! Thats sounds great! This one seems good for Akira because of stellar cartology lab, but then again, a story of this magnitude may require a map we're used to, like Deralict2. Okay, now that Simmo has spoken, what about a time? 1:EST seems okay, as it fits the "5 hour swing", That is, its good for 5 hours in both directions from the atlantic coastline. But that's jusy my idea.

that sounds like a VG mission........(oh well)

D2 is not the best. I find YA its a GREAT ship but the fact that there are scorch marks, circuits etc, everywhere is not great. The borg thing SUCKS and the hull breaches arnt great......but with your storyline lets do this

Ship name:USS Joy Of Pepsi

ideas: all the soup man said with this (fits D2)

the uss Joy of Pepsi is charting a nebuala with the ship USS Drink Coca Cola enjoy

They are in the nebula when a SHOCK WAVE (dramatic music) wipes out everything and damages both ships. Some of the crew dissapear (only say 4 that were on the side of the ship that wasnt in the nebula. etc..........psst.....maybe a third ship? nostromo? or a station?

i thing D2 (deralict2) and Akira are main maps......have JS1 and nostromo ready? perhaps the original Deralict?

Well, as far as I can see, we're going with Soup's idea, and that's that now... As for names, the USS Scooter(Deralict2) departs from Starbase 37(Jovian Station), and enters the nebula and plot proceeds... I think that's settled... Now, does everyone agree on the date?

Kill each other?

We'll we decided to start killing each other like a regular match because there were only like 3 or 4 of us and we got bored and we started killing. Then scooter came along NOT KNOWING WHAT WE WERE DOING!!! and went and kicked people that he saw were killing. Then sTk decided to quit this whole RPing thing and I'd like to give a round of aplause to scooter for helping! Muhahaha

Not my fault you people can't understand the rules. RPing only means RPing only. If you get bored and want to kill each other, go somewhere else. Sorry but that's the way it is.

And I've heard more than enough crap from you Dogbert. Your style of humor comes across as insulting.

Scooter's right, This whole idea of "No one's RPing, let's go shoot each other" is really stupid! You can goto ANY other server out there and people will be shooting each other! You say that there were only 3 or 4 people there! I've had enjoyable games with 2! I'll give that people who are prone to going into a KILL KILL state do better in larger games, where it's harder to mess up the game as a a whole. Smaller ones however are delicate, and everything one person does has a profound effect on what's going to happen. Some people are good at RPing, some just don't quite get it, but I think we should really start a kind of "Three strikes you're out" thing, Say if you do something like Spam, kill someone for no reason, or fail to do do something or go somewhere that you need to, you get 1 mark, get three of them, and you get kicked. Just a spur(anger) of the moment idea, but I am getting rather fed up.

about the whole kill pplz thing

its a small instinct called being human that causes us to want to blow pplz heads off. it can be suppressed with somthing interesting like RPG but when the plot gets dull the instinct surfaces and causes us to blow each others head off.

Maybe somebody should post the rules of what were alowd to do on the server and what were not alowd to do. I find some peoples tempers to blow way to easily. Some times killing is part of the game and if scooter isn't in the game and happens to see people killing then he'd kick them. WE agreed to kill each other. AND BTW, this killing thing wasn't my idea.

I thought there wasn't any "Flame Wars" on this Forum. I don't see why people can't settle a matter peacefully instead of throwing insults back and forth.

Tip to some people: LOOSEN UP!

Just a minor note: Don't be to strict on the rules. You have to be a little open on what you can do. You can't say you have to always roleplay otherwise your out. At least be able to have a little fun (not including killing if thats your impression) and be able to just talk freely and not like we are on a ship RPing.

Hmm... sorta like training mission in VG. Could do, but would take a bit of work because someone would have to sit down and train with each person. Server password could be changed during training so that it's just the trainer and trainee.

Too Bad, So Sad! j/k LOL! I had a feeling it was only for us Canadians (Eh!) because this is something about canadians risking their lives somewhere to help somebody i think. perhaps the UKians? can't remember. The 2 mins of silence we had, i nearly fell over in bordem. actually it was more like 5 mins in a church by our school where we have our assemblys and there were like 500 people there just standing so quietly. It felt weird to actually have complete silence with 500 people!

Today I woke up really late in a cold sweat remembering that I had a big exam today, then jumping down and running around in a frenzy trying to gather my stuff. Then I had a thought, consulted my trusty calendar and realized that I didn't have class today. Crisis Averted.

The moral of the story is that I found out from my calendar that Remembrance Day is a Canadian holiday. For Americans, its Veteran's Day, which sounds like close to the same thing. Of course I have to catch up on my studying all day today. Wah!

Daylight savings is off now. We're back to standard time.

You're not showing up late for class now are you?

Daylight saving was a few weeks ago wasn't it? All I know is what time it is now, and thats it, except from the fact that I'm confused.

Hmmm, no wonder my professors were mad. Grin

LOL, j/k. You forget, Arizona doesn't change between standard and daylight savings, so we never have to change our clocks. The way I usually figure it out is when non-local TV stations shift the times of the shows by 1 hour, so I miss my show. Grrr!

Though I haven't watched much TV lately either, so I didn't notice.

Hmmm, no TV or PC games. What HAVE I been doing with my time???? I seriously can't remember. Wha?

I think I'm the ultimate night owl. Never go to bed before 2 am, in fact it's usually much later than that.

Yeah, me and Crusader were up last Saturday talking until, what was it 4?, 5? (am). Sleep sucks, I wish I didn't have to do it.

I wonder how long I could actually go without sleep.....

Tecnically, the body doesn't need sleep, the mind does. But you can train yourself to not need sleep. I imagine it's harder than it sounds though.

New VR, New RO, New PL, pretty much New Anything has Voyager. IIRC each one airs a different episode and there all on at the same time.

Actually one of those is a station around us here in BC. (New VI?) Don't know because we have all of those stations (the priveledges of satellite TV)
