How do I make non-breakable windows? I've got breakable ones, and I've set them to invincible, and removed their health, but they still break.

Well since its in the mapping help I think it would be the windows in his map. What ever!

I realise that. I had a window open with every new topic, so I had no idea where it was, and I was too lazy to look, and it was what I thought.

At first I thought it was normal windows that cover your house then i realized where i was.

I dont know how to solve it, but can i recommend looking at the properties of the windows in the briefing room / ready room etc? Maybe that might help.

That's the first thing I thought of. Looks like a clip brush.

In the half-life engine, I made windows by making a solid brush and putting the transparent glass texture on it. Don't know if that's the same in the Quake 3 engine though.

Am, Scooter... they wouldn't be func_breakable would they? Because windows only break if you tell them to, normally they are indestrucable.

Yeah, they're func_breakable right now. I tried changing it to func_static and it now it compiles endlessly. I wasted most of yesterday waiting for a 25 minute map to compile for 2 hours but no luck.

they don't have to be func_anythings, they can be normal brushes

You can just select the window, go to Edit and say Ungroup

I've ungrouped them all, but now my map is compiling forever. Been going for three hours now. Used to only take 25 minutes. Any ideas? (mappers only respond please, don't need help from people who don't know anything about mapping)

Select as much of the map as you can that doesn't touch the void (i.e. wall with nothing behind them). Then go to Edit and make them Detailed. That should quicken the compile.

i get the same thing with MY computer, it works great on my dads for some reason. I think it has something to do with DOS. If you can, try it on another computer, or find a alternate to using DOS.

Try deleting the folders in your baseef folder. The map and other files are in the pk3 files so you don't really need the files that are in the folders in the baseef directory. I'm just guessing on this Wink

easy this means, that there is a brush in your map that is touching too many other brushes, ull have to find that brush and cut it in half or thought

as for the second part that should be soves, then casue it didnt write the bsp, cause of the error
