Pak scape being used with Final Fantasy 8 PC

I noteced that the movies are contained in a .pak file in FF8 PC.
but when i try to read it with pak scape. it gives me an error. how else can i do this?

Make sure you have the latest version of PakScape.

If it doesnt work, try using WinRAR to open it, that should work.

naw its just a coincidence Wink I've seen this kind of thing before. They aren't really zipped files.

1. whats the latest version of pak scape? i have 0.11.0.0.
2. its not a zip file, otherwise win RAR wouldve opened it. Happy

Oh, just using a file extension again by mistake. I dont seem to see many companies making files with their own (new) extensions (or file types) any more, but a few do pop up, like I guess this has.

Yup, like Microsoft used the ACE extension in Train Simulator, but they're not ACE archives, just a differently encoded TGA image.

So how would you extract The videos from FF8 PC then?

First, you have the latest version as far as I know. And I don't think you can extract it, not even sure that they are even compressed in the first place.

I have 0.11.0.0 and as far as i know thats the latest, but i'm still geting file read errors from the thin.

the thin? And if you're talking about the final fantasy stuff I told you you can't open them! They aren't real pak files!

Oh! Nevermind. then how else would you do it? i dont exactly rember how, but i know if it was the PS version you extract them with some kinda program or use Psemu. What would you use for the PC version?

I'm guessing that they're the movie files themselves, not within a compressed file. If each of the movies are separate (a different pak file), then they're probably the files themselves.
